When I heard the Name Samsung Galaxy Note 8, I was like:
“That explosive type again >.< !!”?,
Anyway with apologies form the Saudi company promising a rigorous battery check in all their device we might no be experiencing such again.
Not me alone;
Many thought the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 as a Samsung S8 plus-plus kind of device (if that’s a thing), but when you talk about the Note 8 you talk about an impressive device.
Wait, its actually the best Samsung device, this guy calls it a beast (you heard me right).
You will be a fan of the Tablets to be drawn to the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 over the Galaxy S8, that’s because despite being the best device ever lunched by Samsung, its battery capacity is smaller than the S8 Plus (with 200 mAh less) and accompanied with its high cost.
In conclusion; (rather too early though)
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is rated the best in its league, so lets get to the specs of this device.
Table Of Contents
We trust Samsung to bring the best of design to their devices, with their recent, what it called again?, “infinity display” or Edge-to-Edge display (if you wish) which you will agree is an amazing design to behold.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is no exception featuring the biggest version of this display yet seen, with a 6.3 inch QHD+ looking like a sublime thus giving the impression of a screen attached somewhere at the back of this device.
Design wise, you would be getting a device with glass everywhere, being that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 features a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 back panel having a slight curve at edges to enable a firm grip on the device.
For the first time, Samsung decided to have its fingerprint scanner at the back of a Note device, not too bad though, as its easy to find,( that’s when held at the mid section) and it also features its side buttons well placed at the sides.
Up front there are about 6 openings which include the front camera, LED notification light, four other port of which i’d guess the iris scanner(the first of its kind) is included.
At the bottom front we see a device with no navigation buttons(or home button if you wish) but same setup with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 plus.
Under features a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB type C port opening, an opening for the microphone and lastly, the speakers.
To the side after the antenna band is the Stylus Pen(more about that to come).
Its display complements its design, offering a brighter and more colourful display with size of about 6.3 inches (the tablet size)
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 display is massive as it features a Super AMOLED screen with HDR baked in, resolution of 1440 by 2960 pixels resulting a pixel density of 522 per inch which is protected by a Gorilla Glass 5.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 device comes in two versions, one with Snapdragon 653 SoC and the other with Exynos Chipset (will be placing more emphasis on the Exynos version ).
This device Soc is an Octa-core CPU with two quad-core clusters at two different frequency, the first at 2.3GHz and the other at 1.7 GHz.
For Fluid multitasking. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 features a Mali-G71 MP20 and whooping 6GB RAM.
With respect to storage of files and multimedia, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is available in three flavours:
And might you need more space, it enables a microSD with capacity up to 256GB.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is a single SIM (or dual if you prefer) Android device running on the latest Nougat flavor of operating system — version 7.1.1 — which, of course, would get updated to Android Oreo (version 8) when it becomes publicly available.
With all the specs for this device, Samsung wasn’t high on this with respect to its battery as it features a non- removable Li-on battery with rating of 3300 mAh, which is 2oo mAh lesser than the released S8( Although, they might have a good reason for that, probably explosion 🙂 ).
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 supports the fast charging technology with Quickcharge 2.0 and also a wireless charging system when using it charging dock.
Samsung came loaded on this device when we talk of camera specs.
For rear camera, it features a dual camera set up with each lens at 12MP and having an aperture opening of f/1.7.
Highlight of the rear camera include the Phase detection auto-focus, Auto HDR, Optical Image Stabilisation with the ability to shoot 1080p videos at 60 frames per second to mention a few.
The Front camera is an 8MP shooter featuring same wide aperture opening, an Auto Focus, Auto HDR and lots more.
For Security , Samsung Galaxy Note 8 specs features a fingerprint scanner which for the first time comes at the back of a Samsung device just next to the rear camera and an Iris Scanner.
This include the new version of S Pen which comes with this device at pressure Sensitivity of 4,096, flexible tip and light weight.
Although Samsung wheeled out the idea that it feels like writing on paper but on test it actually dose not (rubber on glass, what have you?), but this is closest they have gotten with the feeling and accuracy of their S-Pen though.
Also the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 comes with the IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

If you ask me, Samsung didn’t do much on the looks on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 as the S8 and S8 plus was actually impressive as such too.
Quite some power with its 6GB RAM (that will actually attract some people).
Amazing specs, don’t you feel same?

In conclusion(Quite the right time)
As long as we don’t experience the “boom-boom” stuff (unno explosion), i think this will be quite a battle between Apple and Samsung for the most impressive device for the year.
